Principal's Message

Dear Mountain View Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you for the 2019-2020 school year at Mountain View Middle School.  I am honored to continue to serve as your principal.

Mountain View was recently recognized by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform as a School to Watch!

Mountain View has an incredible faculty and staff, all committed to the success of every student.  As the Principal of Mountain View Middle School, I am deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of our students. We will accomplish this by retaining high academic expectations and ensuring that the appropriate support systems are in place to attain optimum results.  We will adhere to the mission and strategic plan of the Moreno Valley Unified School District.

We are eager to build on a school culture with a tradition of high expectations, collaboration, and a focus on student learning to ensure that every student is successful.  The staff of Mountain View Middle school is committed to “Excellence on Purpose”. Our goal is to continue to maintain a safe environment conducive to learning as well as to provide students with the necessary academic/social skills which will prepare them for high school and empower them to be college and career ready.

We hope you have been able to spend some quality time with your students enjoying the summer break. We have been working very hard this summer to ensure that your child will enjoy a positive and successful experience at Mountain View this year.

Mountain View Middle School offers a variety of academic programs, such as, English 3D Curriculum for English Learners, Achieve 3000, Honors, AVID, and Think Together after school enrichment program. In addition, our school has a growing Visual and Performing Arts department offering Band, Advanced Art, MESA Robotics, Mixed Media Art, Speech & Debate and Ceramics. This coming school year I am excited to announce the addition of our Junior Scholars Program and Dual Language Immersion Program.

Chromebooks available to all students.  Students have access to email and Google Drive accounts. In addition, they are able to access Google Classroom, SHMOOP, Khan Academy, Achieve 3000, and other computer based academic programs and applications.

We look forward to working with all students and their families. As the partnership between home and school is vital to the success of all students, we encourage you to become involved in school activities. Involvement may include volunteering in the classroom, attending school functions, and serving on our ELAC, AAPAC or School Site Council, just to name a few. Your time and commitment are highly desired and greatly valued. As a reminder we have a Parent Resource Center adjacent to the library.

Communication is also crucial to a successful home/school partnership and you can expect that we will keep you up to date on important school events and issues through our website, marquee, ParentLink messages, Peach Jar flyers, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

6th Grade Orientation Night will be Tuesday, August 13th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
